About the role: 
We are looking for an Operations Coordinator with a passion for arable agriculture looking to get involved in an exciting fast growing AgTech start-up making an impact in sustainable agriculture and the carbon credit market. 

We expect you to have a background in arable agriculture with some experience managing external contractors or managing projects internally. An ideal candidate is analytical while being able to manage multiple work streams and is comfortable working with many stakeholders from external contractors to internal technical teams. 

You’ll be working with a driven team in a fast paced environment where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your planning, project management, and execution skills.

We are looking for people who are located within a commutable distance from London, as we expect you to be in the office together with the team at least 2 times a week. 


Your responsibilities:

  • Supervising the acquisition of ground truthing data in various regions of Europe, which includes managing a large number of contractors on a project basis;

  • Using your agricultural knowledge to monitor the performance and judgement of our arable field inspectors; 

  • Working together with our data science team to ensure we are collecting the most valuable and relevant data possible;

  • Working with the other members of the operations team to optimise our data collection processes and create a cost-effective and scalable data collection system;

Requirements

Requirements to succeed in the role:

  • 1-3 years of experience with taking ownership of projects and successfully completing them;

  • Having a good understanding of arable agriculture - feeling comfortable discussing tillage/seeding/harvesting operations with farmers and agronomists;

  • A Bachelor's degree level, preferably in Agriculture, Business, Project Management, or similar;

  • Being proactive and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced environment;

  • Excellent communications skills;

  • Being proficient with excel sheets and google documents as well as being tech-savvy when using new tools.


Bonus points if you:

  • Have experience in sustainable agriculture with a good understanding of practices such as cover cropping, reduced tillage systems, and rotational cropping;

  • Successfully worked on projects yourself with limited supervision;

  • Are comfortable speaking with external contractors and businesses over email and phone while coordinating operations.
